Pilibhit. A crucial meeting of district-level officers was held at the Gandhi Auditorium, chaired by District Election Officer and District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh, with the objective of making the special intensive revision campaign successful and error-free. Considering the importance of the campaign, the District Magistrate gave clear instructions that no negligence or error in the revision of the voter list would be tolerated.
Addressing the meeting, the District Magistrate said that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) work should be completed in a timely manner and with high quality. He sternly warned the officers that any error found at any level, from data mapping to the reports sent to senior officials, would be considered punishable. Therefore, a thorough review and cross-checking of every point is mandatory.
The District Magistrate instructed all concerned officials to hold meetings with village heads, ration shop owners, panchayat secretaries, and ward members to ensure accurate verification work. He stated that any negligence in removing ineligible voters from the list and adding the names of eligible citizens would be a compromise with the democratic system, and therefore, complete transparency must be maintained.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate also clarified that this responsibility related to the elections is not merely an administrative task, but a constitutional duty to protect the democratic rights of the citizens. Therefore, all officials must participate in this campaign with diligence, seriousness, and responsibility.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate (Finance/Revenue) Prasoon Dwivedi, City Magistrate Vijay Vardhan Tomar, District Development Officer, Deputy Commissioner Self-Employment, District School Inspector, Assistant Registrar Cooperatives, District Disability Empowerment Officer, and other district-level officers.
