PM Modi Intensifies Assam Campaign with Three Key Rallies Ahead of Polls

SHARE:

Narendra Modi is set to ramp up the election campaign in Assam by addressing three major rallies on Monday, as political activity peaks ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections. With just days left for campaigning to end, the Prime Minister’s visit is seen as a crucial push for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to the campaign schedule, Modi’s first rally will take place in Bhabanipur-Sorbhog in the Barpeta district of Lower Assam. Here, he will campaign in support of BJP candidate and state minister Ranjeet Kumar Das. The region is considered politically significant, and the rally is expected to draw large crowds.

Following this, the Prime Minister will head to Hojai in central Assam for his second rally of the day. In this सभा, he will canvass for BJP candidate Shiladitya Dev. Hojai is regarded as a key constituency where electoral competition is expected to be intense, making Modi’s presence strategically important.

The final rally of the day will be held in Dibrugarh, located in Upper Assam. At this event, Narendra Modi will seek support for state minister Prasanta Phukan. Dibrugarh is often seen as a stronghold of the BJP, and the party aims to consolidate its voter base further through high-profile campaigning.

This marks Modi’s second visit to Assam during the ongoing election season. Earlier, on April 1, he addressed rallies in Gogamukh and Behali and also interacted with women tea garden workers in Dibrugarh. These interactions were part of the party’s outreach efforts to connect with grassroots communities and highlight welfare initiatives.

The upcoming Assembly elections in Assam will cover all 126 constituencies, with voting scheduled for April 9 and counting set for May 4. Campaigning will officially conclude on April 7, leaving political parties with limited time to influence voters.

The BJP has been focusing its campaign on development, infrastructure growth, employment opportunities, and welfare schemes implemented in the state. Opposition parties, on the other hand, are also intensifying their efforts, making the electoral contest more competitive.

Political analysts believe that Modi’s rallies could play a decisive role in shaping voter sentiment, particularly in closely contested constituencies. His speeches often combine national themes with local development issues, which resonate with a broad section of voters.
