A mock drill was conducted on December 10, 2025, at the Chakradhar Bhavan administrative building of NTPC Lara, involving NDRF, CISF, the district administration, and nearby large industries, to ensure the safety and rescue of employees in the event of a fire. The mock drill was organized through the joint efforts of all parties to safely rescue people and minimize loss of life and property during a fire. The entire scenario was realistically simulated, with fire alarms sounding in the building and people being evacuated to the designated assembly point. Ambulances and the fire department were called. The fire department extinguished the simulated fire, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), which specializes in handling such situations, was also called in. NDRF personnel demonstrated how to evacuate people from the building during a disaster and how to rescue those who might have become unconscious due to smoke inhalation, using ropes to lower them to safety. First aid was administered to the affected individuals, and arrangements were made to send them to the hospital for better medical care. Mr. Keshab Chandra Singha Roy, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), expressed his gratitude to everyone for the successful conduct of the entire exercise. Present on the occasion were Deputy Commandant Mr. Pawan Joshi, Deputy Director Industrial Health and Safety Mr. Rahul Patel, District Fire Officer Mr. Pramod Jogi and his team, Adani Power’s Security Officer Mr. Sandeep Singh, Mr. Zakir Khan, Additional General Manager (Human Resources), and other senior officials from NTPC Lara’s security department.
