The Bihar government has signaled a firm crackdown on illegal land dealings, with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha issuing a strong warning against land mafias and middlemen involved in unauthorized property transactions. Speaking at a public event in Bhagalpur, Sinha emphasized that the state administration is committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in land-related matters.
He stated that complaints related to land encroachment, forged documents, and manipulation of land records have been increasing, causing distress to common citizens. To address these concerns, the government plans to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and take strict legal action against those found misusing the land system for personal gain.
According to officials, special attention will be given to digitized land records under the Bihar Bhumi system. Authorities are expected to review suspicious transactions and coordinate with district administrations to identify irregularities at the local level.
Deputy CM Sinha also urged citizens to avoid dealing with unauthorized agents or intermediaries and encouraged them to use official online portals for land-related services. He assured that genuine landowners would be protected and that no innocent individual would be harassed during enforcement drives.
The move is part of the state government’s broader effort to improve governance, curb corruption, and restore public confidence in land administration. Further guidelines and operational measures are likely to be announced in the coming days.
