Born on February 19, 1630, Shivaji Maharaj envisioned the idea of Swarajya—self-rule based on justice and welfare of the people. His innovative guerrilla warfare tactics and network of forts are still studied for their strategic brilliance.
Shivaji Maharaj was also known for promoting religious tolerance and ensuring the dignity and safety of women. Under his rule, people from all communities enjoyed protection and equal treatment, making him a symbol of inclusive governance.
