The Adani Group has stepped up its support for flood-affected communities in Assam by contributing Rs 11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and launching a large-scale relief programme that is reaching nearly 8,000 families across the state.
The financial assistance, announced by Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, is aimed at strengthening relief and rehabilitation efforts in areas severely impacted by recent floods. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the contribution, stating that it would significantly support the state’s ongoing relief operations and help thousands of affected families rebuild their lives.
Relief Drive Covers Thousands of Families
Alongside the financial contribution, the Adani Foundation, in collaboration with Adani Smart Meter and Guwahati International Airport Limited (GIAL), has launched a comprehensive flood relief initiative across Upper Assam.
The programme is currently delivering relief kits to nearly 8,000 families in the Nazira Sub-Division of Sivasagar district and Silapathar in Dhemaji district, two regions that have witnessed widespread flooding during the monsoon season.
Field teams have been deployed to ensure that aid reaches even the most remote and difficult-to-access villages, allowing affected residents to receive essential supplies without delay.
Essential Relief Kits for Immediate Support
Each relief kit has been prepared to meet the urgent needs of families displaced or affected by floods. The kits include:
- Essential food supplies
- Basic medicines
- Sanitation and hygiene products
- Daily-use necessities
The initiative is intended to provide immediate assistance while helping families begin the process of recovery after the disaster.
Relief Reaches 14 Flood-Hit Villages
The ongoing relief campaign covers 14 villages in the Nazira region, including Gurmur Miri (Nepali Basti), Santak Grant, Baligaon, Rojapool Duwarah Gaon, Bamunpukhuri, Gohain Gaon (Komol Sapori), Hulang Katoni, Hulang Kalita, Bengmora Konwar Gaon, Bailung Gaon, Miri Gaon, Ougurijan and Bihubor Grant. Relief operations are also underway in flood-affected areas of Silapathar in Dhemaji district.
According to the Foundation, teams are working continuously to ensure that assistance reaches every affected household, including those located in remote areas.

The Adani Foundation said that emergency relief is only the first step in supporting flood-affected communities. The organisation remains committed to helping families recover and rebuild while promoting long-term resilience in vulnerable regions.
With recurring floods affecting Assam every year, coordinated efforts by government agencies, private organisations and social institutions play a crucial role in providing timely relief and supporting rehabilitation.
The Foundation stated that its ongoing initiative reflects its commitment to standing with communities during times of crisis and contributing to sustainable recovery efforts.
