The US’s invasion of Venezuela and arrest of President Nicolas Maduro has shocked the entire world. The US has arrested Maduro and taken him to New York. US President Donald Trump announced that he had removed Maduro from power and taken Venezuela under his control.
He has now openly threatened Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodriguez. Delcy Rodriguez has been serving as vice president under Maduro since 2018. Rodriguez is in charge of the presidency because the US has taken Maduro under sanctions and taken him to New York.
Trump has warned that if Rodriguez does not do the right thing, he will have to face even greater consequences than Maduro. Trump initially praised Rodriguez after the arrest of Maduro and his wife in the capital Caracas. Trump’s warning came after Rodriguez later said his country would protect its natural resources.
The country’s interim president, Rodriguez, called for a balanced and respectful relationship with the United States. “We consider it a priority to move forward with a balanced and respectful relationship between the United States and Venezuela. We invite the American government to work together for development,” he said.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez advised the entire world to remain vigilant. “If this happened today against Venezuela, tomorrow it could happen to any government or country. I call on the Venezuelan people to remain calm and vigilant,”
