The painful story of the minor girl gang-rape case that took place on the banks of the Daya river in Lingipur, Dhauli police station has not been erased from the minds of the people. Even now, the heat created in the capital regarding this inhuman case has not subsided. Meanwhile, another gang rape of a minor girl has taken place in the capital.
It is alleged that two men raped the victim in a rented house in Shaheed nagar, luring her to provide a job. The police have arrested two accused in this case that took place last night. They are Akshay Das (28) of Khurda Kerang area and Sahil Khan (26) of Mukundrapsad area. They were tried in court today. According to the victim, she knew the accused Akshay Das before.
The victim asked the accused Akshay to get her a job in some company. Defending the victim’s request, the accused Akshay promised and said that whenever he called, he would have to come to Bhubaneswar immediately. But the victim could not know that Akshay had a sin hidden in his mind. On the 18th, Akshay called the victim. On the pretext of getting her a job as a data entry operator in a company, Akshay called her to his rented house in Shahid nagar. In the hope of getting a job, the victim trusted Akshay and reached the rented house in Shahid nagar. But whether she would get a job, the victim fell victim to gang rape. The accused two forcibly raped her. By then it was 2 pm. The accused planned to keep her detained throughout the night, but the victim cleverly escaped from there. The next day, i.e. on the morning of the 19th, the victim reached Shahid nagar police station and filed a complaint. As soon as the police received the complaint of a minor girl being gang-raped in the capital and in areas like Shaheed nagar, two teams were formed to track down the accused. After the victim escaped, the accused left the rented house and hid elsewhere. But the police team was able to pick them up from Khordha. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have taken a scientific team and collected various samples from the said rented house.
