Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday highlighted the importance of applying science and technology for the betterment of society, stating that innovation should ultimately serve human welfare and inclusive development.
Addressing a gathering in Sambalpur, Pradhan said scientific progress must focus on solving real-world challenges faced by people, especially in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental protection. He stressed that technology should be accessible and beneficial to all sections of society, not limited to a few.
The Union Minister also spoke about India’s growing focus on research, innovation, and skill development under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He encouraged students, researchers, and young innovators to use scientific knowledge responsibly and ethically to contribute to nation-building.
Pradhan further noted that educational institutions play a key role in shaping future scientists and technologists. He urged academia to promote practical learning, research-based education, and collaboration with industry to ensure that scientific advancements translate into social progress.
The event witnessed participation from educationists, students, and local officials, reflecting a shared commitment to leveraging science and technology for sustainable and human-centric development.
