Along with AQI data, Google Maps also highlights areas with comparatively better air quality and suggests alternative routes where pollution levels may be lower. Users can access this feature by enabling the air quality layer within the app, making it easier to plan travel, workouts, or outdoor activities based on real-time conditions.
Health experts advise limiting outdoor exposure during high pollution periods and using masks when AQI levels fall into poor or severe categories. With winter approaching, air quality in Delhi-NCR is expected to fluctuate further due to weather conditions and emissions.
