BJP Slams Congress After Notice to Lok Sabha Speaker, Calls for Rahul Gandhi’s Political Accountability

A fresh political confrontation has erupted between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress after a notice was moved against the Lok Sabha Speaker. Reacting sharply, the BJP on Tuesday said it was “time to impeach Rahul Gandhi politically” and accused the Congress of repeatedly undermining democratic institutions.

Senior BJP leaders alleged that the Congress, instead of respecting parliamentary procedures, was resorting to pressure tactics and politicising constitutional offices. They claimed the notice against the Lok Sabha Speaker reflected what they described as the opposition party’s disregard for parliamentary decorum.

“The Congress has made it a habit to question institutions whenever decisions do not suit its political narrative,” a BJP spokesperson said. The party further accused Rahul Gandhi of promoting confrontational politics and misleading the public on parliamentary functioning.

According to the BJP, such actions not only damage the credibility of Parliament but also weaken public trust in democratic processes. The ruling party asserted that accountability in politics does not come through disruptions and notices, but through constructive debate and respect for established rules.

Meanwhile, the Congress has defended its move, stating that raising concerns through formal notices is part of democratic rights and parliamentary oversight. The party maintained that questioning authority should not be seen as an attack on institutions.

The episode has once again highlighted the deepening political divide in Parliament, with both sides trading sharp remarks. As tensions continue, the matter is expected to further fuel debate over the role of the opposition and the limits of political dissent within India’s parliamentary democracy.
